Ask Ty...February 10 [The Internet All-Star Question]

It must be Tuesday Wednesday, Middlespace Cadets, because I'm answering your questions
Q: Dear Ty,

What websites on the internet do you consider to be "your happy place" -- the places you visit that just make you feel good.

Can we get a list of your top 5 or 10?

-Paulzy
Ty: Good question and an even better observation, Paulzy. My "happy places" on the World Wide Nets, huh? We all have our uses and misuses of places on the Inner Tubes. Some places for research and information, others for just looking at images, ya' know? Business and pleasure. There are also the so-called "social networking" kind of places like Facer and Twitbook, and The Friend-star.

And we all have our friends World Wide Websites (or as you say, Paulzy, "websites on the internet") that we keep up with too. But, Paulzie, you want to know about my private collection of "happy place" places; the places I go for simple, visceral, and immediate gratification.

Well, some are not as "simple and immediate," but here goes:
  1. Achewood
  2. The Best Show on WFMU
  3. Found Magazine
  4. Otter Meat tied with Nazi Gold
  5. The Onion
  6. Wooster Collective
A short list, I know, but these are the "happy places" of simple pleasures. Not a top 5 or 10, but the complete list under this very specific subcategory (top-6, doy!).

Granted, I have many other places where I go for other purposes, you know...like research and, uh, work, right? Just ask me and I'll fill you in...uh, tell you about it, Paulzie.

Hey, Cadets! What are your "websites on the internet do you consider to be "your happy place?"

Just a guess,
