Compact?
I think I have around 90% of all the compact discs that I've ever purchased (excluding victims of intentional weeding exercises). I bought my first "CD" (actually for myself) in 1989, I believe. Long box.
The point is I have nearly 20 years of familiarity with the CD. I guess, given the whole download thing, I haven't purchased an actually CD in a while. Dave Wave had Rock, Rot & Rule sent to me (along with some other stuff) and I actually had to figure out how to open the cellophane wrapped fucker.
I used to have these plastic razor CD opener tools everywhere, but even they have retired.
Just Like Life
I went to the youth Christmas pageant at the Prince of Peace Lutheran church this past week; my five year-old neighbor was a sheep and an angel. But that's not the story.
While we were all waiting in a hallway before the doors opened, a young father was minding his toddler child. The child was rolling on the floor and occasionally bumping his head against the tile floor. You could feel vibration through your feet.
Someone mentioned that the floor was "cold and hard." The young father replied, "just like life." Deadpan.
I nodded and mouthed the word, "exactly."

An Appreciation
With regard to Ike Turner:
"It's really hard to focus when there's a Hellhound on your trail."
