WB/IMF Protest - A Story

So, I'm taking some pictures toward the end of this pathetic demonstration and I see some decent light. In fact, the juxtaposition of the black, woman, policewoman in front of the International Monetary Fund building was just too much to resist.

So, I shoot her. And I shoot her until I hear, "What are you photographing?" It was the Secret Service Uniformed Division bicycle officer. I explained, "the juxtaposition of the officer and the words, "International Monetary Fund." "Why?" he asks. I explain the art perspective.

He just didn't care about my art. He wanted to see if I was conducting surveillance for the protesters. I was hurt. Me and the protesters? Uh, I don't think so.
